Wealth Management Canada conducts in-depth due diligence on wealth managers and only those who meet our quality standards are invited to join our platform. Our manager research process is based on careful, independent research and ongoing due diligence.
We look beyond historical returns.
Many investors focus only on past performance when selecting a wealth manager. We believe this is a mistake. At Wealth Management Canada we recognize that investment manager research relies on both quantitative and qualitative analysis, and ultimately on independent judgement. To truly understand a manager’s skill requires detailed understanding of the organization and its team, investment process, portfolio construction and risk management.
We focus on the long term.
Our research process is designed to identify managers who have a consistent, repeatable, and sustainable ability to deliver results for their clients. We’re not impressed by short-term performance and we also understand that even the best wealth managers experience periods of underperformance. Our goal is to find the best teams with a history of long-term success.
Examples of criteria on which we evaluate managers include:
- Alignment of interests
- Fiduciary duty and always putting investors’ interests first
- Clearly stated investment philosophy and disciplined, repeatable process
- Focus on performance, not asset gathering
- Transparency and communication
- Client feedback
